EcoVadis, das Nachhaltigkeitsratings für Unternehmen anhand von globalen Standard durchführt, hat den Maschinenbauer Flottweg mit einer Gold-Medaille ausgezeichnet. Der Separationstechnikspezialist wurde damit erstmals von EcoVadis ausgezeichnet und zählt zu den Besten ein Prozent im Bereich Maschinenbau. Mit 73 von 100 möglichen Punkten zeichnet sich Flottwegs Nachhaltigkeitsbestreben in den vergangenen Jahren aus. Die EcoVadis Bewertung umfasst 21 Nachhaltigkeitskriterien zu vier Kernthemen: Umwelt, Arbeits- und Menschenrechte, Ethik und nachhaltige Beschaffung. Durch die Festschreibung bestimmter Bewertungskriterien ermöglicht EcoVadis eine internationale Vergleichbarkeit der zertifizierten Unternehmen. Weltweit hat EcoVadis in den vergangenen Jahren bereits mehr als 85.000 Unternehmen bewertet.

Die Unterstützung des Global Compacts ist ein wichtiger Meilenstein in Flottwegs fortwährender Verpflichtung zur Nachhaltigkeit und verleiht dem Unternehmen zusätzliche Legitimität und Glaubwürdigkeit in Bezug auf seine Geschäftspraktiken. Zudem übernimmt das Unternehmen hinsichtlich der 10 universellen Prinzipien in den Bereichen Menschenrechte, Arbeit, Umwelt und Korruptionsbekämpfung grundlegende Verantwortung. Als Teil des UNGC wird Flottweg seine Aktivitäten und Geschäftsabläufe an den Prinzipien des Global Compact ausrichten. Flottweg erkennt die Bedeutung einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung an und verpflichtet sich, seine Produkte und Dienstleistungen kontinuierlich zu verbessern, um die Umweltauswirkungen zu minimieren und einen positiven Einfluss auf die Gesellschaft zu haben.

In Fachkreisen galt das Prinzip Düsenseparator als ausgereizt: Daraufhin wandten sich zahlreiche Kunden an Flottweg. Flottweg erkannte den Kundenschmerz und hinterfragte die bestehenden Konstruktionsprinzipien grundlegend. Mit einem interdisziplinären Team startete Flottweg den Entwicklungsprozess: Ziel war es, das Prinzip „Düsenseparator“ von Grund auf neu zu denken, um ein deutlich leistungsfähigeres und gleichzeitig hocheffizientes Trennaggregat zu entwickeln. Zugleich sollten Betriebs- und Wartungskosten sowie der Ressourcenverbrauch deutlich reduziert werden. All diese Aspekte wurden schließlich in einem Trennaggregat vereint, welches optimal auf die Bedürfnisse der Kunden zugeschnitten ist.

EcoVadis, which carries out sustainability ratings for companies based on global standards, has awarded the machine manufacturer Flottweg a Gold medal. This was the separation technology specialist’s first time being recognized by EcoVadis, thereby putting it in the top one percent of the mechanical engineering industry. Flottweg’s sustainability efforts in recent years were awarded 73 out of 100 possible points. The EcoVadis assessment focuses on 21 sustainability criteria in four key areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The establishment of specific assessment criteria enables EcoVadis to compare certified companies on an international level. EcoVadis has assessed more than 85,000 companies worldwide in recent years.

In specialist circles, the nozzle separator principle was considered to be exhausted: as a result, numerous customers turned to Flottweg. Flottweg recognized the customer's pain and fundamentally questioned the existing design principles. Flottweg started the development process with an interdisciplinary team: the aim was to rethink the "nozzle separator" principle from the ground up in order to develop a significantly more powerful and at the same time highly efficient separation unit. At the same time, operating and maintenance costs as well as resource consumption were to be significantly reduced. All of these aspects were ultimately combined in a separation unit that is optimally tailored to the customer's needs.

Participating in the Global Compact is an important milestone in Flottweg’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and provides the company with additional legitimacy and credibility in its business practices. In addition, the company assumes fundamental responsibility with regard to the 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. As part of the UNGC, Flottweg will align its activities and business processes with the principles of the Global Compact. Flottweg recognizes the importance of sustainable development and is committed to continuously improving its products and services in order to minimize environmental impacts and have a positive impact on society.

Mit dem German Innovation Award würdigt der Rat für Formgebung auch in diesem Jahr wieder Unternehmen, die in herausragender Weise mit neuen, zukunftsweisenden Technologien, Verfahren oder Dienstleistungen überzeugen. Zu den Gewinnern zählt 2023 Trenntechnikspezialist Flottweg, die mit ihrem Düsenseparator FDS2000 in der Kategorie „Excellence in Business to Business“ mit „Special Mention“ ausgezeichnet wurden. Der Düsenseparator punktet mit zahlreichen innovativen Features bei der Fachjury mit unabhängigen Expertinnen und Experten aus Technologie, Digitalisierung, Wissenschaft und Institutionen. Dabei setze sich Flottwegs Düsenseparator gegen 650 Einreichungen aus 22 Ländern durch und wurde mit dem Prädikat „Special Mention“ für die wohldurchdachten Teilaspekte, originellen Ansätze sowie versierten Detaillösungen prämiert.

With the German Innovation Award, the German Design Council is once again recognizing companies that stand out in exceptional ways with new, forward-looking technologies, processes, or services. The winners in 2023 include Flottweg, a separation technology specialist that was awarded a “Special Mention” in the “Excellence in Business to Business” category for its nozzle separator FDS2000. The nozzle separator and its wide range of innovative features scored points with the jury of independent experts from technology, digitalization, science, and institutions. Flottweg’s nozzle separator beat out 650 submissions from 22 countries and was awarded the distinction “Special Mention” for the well-conceived aspects, original approaches, and savvy detailed solutions.

W 2018 roku firma Flottweg opracowała serię Xelletor specjalnie do odwadniania na wysokim poziomie. Wyznacza nowe standardy w zakresie natężenia przepływu, masy suchej oraz zużycia polimerów i energii. X7E to największa wirówka dekantacyjna z serii X, przeznaczona głównie do stosowania w dużych oczyszczalniach ścieków, obsługujących populację liczącą 200 000 lub więcej przy natężeniu przepływu od 60 do 140 m3/h. Testy prowadzone w zakładach klientów demonstrują, że wirówka X7E jest nie tylko doskonała pod względem wysokiego natężenia przepływu, ale również jako urządzenie o zwiększonej wydajności energetycznej. – Im większa oczyszczalnia ścieków, tym więcej pieniędzy można zaoszczędzić. Dlatego parametry takie jak masa sucha, zużycie energii lub zużycie polimerów mają kluczowe znaczenie w dużych oczyszczalniach ścieków – wyjaśnia Tobias Meßmer, kierownik produktu w dziale dekanterów.
